Cycling in Douala
Martin writes... Packing up and finally leaving for Yaounde meant a 300km trip along very good tarred roads. Ben & Christine had their first brush with the Cameroon police.  The collapsed bridge below was photographed by Christine - however, the police on the opposite side of the river spotted her leaning out of the window taking the photo. This gave the police the opportunity to intimidate Ben and try extract a few dollars.

After mentioning that they were on their way to the Presbyterian Mission in Yaounde (where we were staying) the police relented and sent them on their way.

The Collapsed Bridge

Bombed or what?

Heavy traffic

Smoggy city

Entering Douala we drove past the local cycling club.  It was tough going for the cyclists esp. with the horrific Sunday morning traffic.

Very different cycling conditions for this ex-pat
