Destination Brazzaville
Martin writes... A year ago, DuKsJourney (another overland website) detailed the Pointe Noire to Brazzaville road. It took them 4 days to cover the 250km journey so when Marco insisted that he wanted to visit Brazzaville and Kinshasa ... the only way was to fly. 'Destination Brazzaville' became Marco, Luca and Matteo's objective...

Built in 1968 the Antenov four-prop cargo plane had somehow made it to Pointe Noire and was being flown by a Russian pilot and his engineer.

Marco, a qualified pilot, boldly walked up to the aircraft (with us in tow) and asked the pilot if he could examine the aircraft.  A necessity (of course), especially since this aircraft was to carry and themselves ... and their vehicle :-)

The Russian pilot, who was hiding behind mirrored sunglasses, gave us the opportunity to visit the cockpit.  It was a good experience - Marco in the pilot seat and myself in the co-pilot seat.
